Vinça is on the shores of a picturesque lake. With its own sandy beach the "Lac de Vinça" is also used for swimming and non-motorised watersports. The town is nestled beneath the impressive 'Canigou' mountain (pictured above) the pride of French Catalonia. There are a number of bars, restaurants and shops in the town, all within walking distance of the house and for those who need to stay in touch, some of the cafe’s in the town now offer free WiFi access, so keeping up to date is easy.

Within easy driving distance of the mountains and the coast, it is an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore the region, or for those who just want to enjoy the experience of living in a typical small French town, and relaxing on the terrace after a trip to one of the many markets in the area.

The property is laid out in typical French fashion, with the accommodation arranged over two floors, all above a large storage area / Garage. Entering the ground floor entrance leads you to a set of stairs to the private terrace, and from there the living accommodation can be found. The living area, kitchen and dining areas are found at this level along with two bedrooms and a bathroom. From the large entrance lobby, another set of stairs lead you up to the 2nd floor where a large mezzanine area (with splendid views of the Canigou mountain) can be found along with the additional 2 double bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom

The owners have made the house a home from home and have also made sure that the house is very child-friendly. All stairs have stair-gates fitted, and there is a folding cot available along with a single childs bed which is positioned in one of the double bedrooms. Just in case you decide to relax indoors, for entertainment , there are 2 TV's, a Sony Playstation, plenty of board games and UK FTV SKY satellite channels.

The living area is centred around a wonderful open fire which is great if you are staying in the winter and want to have a cozy evening in. The living area also benefits from a TV and DVD player (so don’t forget your favourite DVD’s).

The bright spacious kitchen looks out over the terrace and has a large dining table for all the family. There is also a further dining area in the entrance lobby which opens onto the large private rear terrace and this offers a fantastic place to relax in the summer heat whilst enjoying an al-fresco meal. All bedrooms are light, airy and very spacious. On the second floor, there is a mezzanine area which has been made into a further sitting area and incorporates additional pull out beds if required. There is a bathroom on each floor, with full size baths and separate shower enclosures in each.

The large private rear terrace is equipped with 2 sun loungers, table and chairs to ensure you make the most of the weather during your stay. The front terrace leads off one of the 2nd floor bedrooms and offers a separate area for members of the family to read quietly and just watch the world go by.

Bookings must be confirmed by payment of a 25% non-refundable deposit. The remainder of the payment must be paid three weeks prior to arrival. Payments are processed via Paypal which allows secure payment by credit or debit card as well as by bank transfer.  Other methods of payment available.

Guests should normally arrive after 1500hrs. Departures should normally be before 1000hrs. These times can be modified by prior arrangement.

Bed linen and towels can be provided £14 per double and £7 per single bed.
